Truro Public Library Reading
“The Playground” will receive a public reading at the Truro Public Library on May 6 at 2pm. The reading is free and open to the public.

Cast Biographies
Anna Botsford (Joan)
Anna is currently appearing in "Barefoot in the Park" at Cotuit Center for the Arts. Previous CCftA appearances include "Wait Until Dark," "Grounded" (2021 & 2017, Winner: Best Actress - Broadway World,) "A Talented Woman," "Unsafe" (IRNE Nomination), "Bark Park," "Boston Marriage," "The 39 Steps," and "Much Ado about Nothing" among others. Other Cape area credits include "Bedside Manners" at BCC, "Church" at Harbor Stage Company and "The Lear Project" at CCTC. Anna is a graduate of the Emerson College Theatre Education Program and is a former company member of Theatre Espresso in Boston. She is the IB level Theatre teacher and STAGE Director at Sturgis Charter Public School West Campus. Anna is a founding member of the ASA Performance Ensemble of Cape Cod - asatheatre.org.
Joe MacDougall (William)
Joe MacDougall is a New York and Cape Cod based actor. Joe has been in numerous plays and films in New York and Cape Cod including “Jerker,” “The Black Eye,” “The Normal Heart,” “The Maids,” “Accidentally Like A Martyr,” “The Lonely Planet,” “Salome,” “Take Me Out,” “The Elephant Man,” “The Lion In Winter,” “Caesar and Cleopatra,” “Small Craft Warning” and others. Films and television include “The Ninth Step,” “Dear Melissa,” “Dive Shop,” “Cocktail Hour,” “Discovery ID Pandora’s Box.”
Sara Shatzel Fitzpatrick (Ashley)
Sara starred as Sugar in "Tiny Beautiful Things" at the Provincetown Theatre this past November. She played Antonio in Campfire Quorum's 2021 production of the "The Witch." She has been in Counter Production's "Bingo!," "Kimberly Akimbo," "Wonder of the World," "Full Monty" and many of Meryl Cohn's brilliant plays. She will star in Provincetown Theatre's production of the "Fantastick's" this summer. She studied at HB Studio in NYC. Thank you, Jim!
Steven Bruce Myerson (Billy)
Steven is a playwright, director, and actor whose plays have been staged in CA, CT, IL, MA, NY, and RI. On the Cape, his plays have been seen at the 24 Hour Plays (Provincetown Theater), the Barnstable Comedy Club’s Playwright Festival, and for Sailor Beware at WHAT. In 2020, his lyrical, political satire, “TO THE EXTREME!,” received a Winter Read at Provincetown Theater. He has performed at open-mics at FAWC, the Writers Voice Café, the MEWS Coffeehouse, and for “Reading Local” (Provincetown Book Festival). He premiered his solo-show, “LOST LOVE POEMS,” at the 2022 Providence Fringe Festival (Wilbury Theatre Group), has appeared in readings for the Truro Playwright Collective, and can be spotted in “The Gilded Age” (HBO Max).
John Shuman (Cyrus)
On Cape Cod John has appeared at the Cape Playhouse, WHAT, and Payomet in “Underneath the Lintel” by Glen Berger- a solo play he has been performing for many years. Last summer he was in “The Lady Hamlet” at the Provincetown Theatre. Broadway: "La Cage Aux Folles," "13 Rue de l’Amour." Off Broadway: "The Hot l Baltimore," "Moonchildren," "The Fantasticks." Regional work includes the Guthrie Theatre, Yale Rep, Alley Theatre, Portland Stage, Geva and the Shakespeare Theatre (DC). He has taught for the Open University of Wellfleet, at the Bread Loaf School of English (Middlebury College) in Vermont and improvisation at Wellfleet Elementary School
Jadah Carroll (Professor)
Jadah is so grateful to be cast in The Playground for the reading at the Truro Public Library. Thank you, Jim Dalglish! Her last few roles have been Deirdre in “The Humans” at the Provincetown Theater, Evy in “The Gingerbread Lady” at the National Arts Club, The Ear in Jhicky Schnee’s “The 4 Sisters” at Art Market Provincetown, Sada in Bruce Levy’s “Sada” in Woodstock, and The Witch Hecate in “The Witch” with Campfire Quorum at the Tennessee Williams Festival. She is also one of the original founders of Impulse Dance Company, and a soloist for many years with Rael Lamb’s Dance For the New World.
Susanna Creel (Britney)
Susanna is thrilled to be a part of "The Playground" and work alongside dynamic talent. From a young age she has had a love for theater and the arts. Past roles include Wednesday Addams in "The Addams Family Musical," Phoebe D’Ysquith in "A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder," and Emily in "Our Town" which she received an EMACT DASH nomination for Best Actress in a play. When she is not performing Susanna enjoys spending time with family and traveling. She’d like to thank all her friends and family that support her art.
Patrick Riviere (Man at Party)
Patrick is an award-winning actor, playwright, documentary filmmaker and arts administrator. His arts education program PIE Story TheatreTM has reached thousands of children and families from coast to coast. He sang with Patti LuPone at Provincetown Town Hall, starred in a Super Bowl Commercial (winning a Gold Telly), and in 2022 his Documentary Short film, Just a Broadway Baby: Mary Ellen Ashley, won awards from Oregon to Italy including 5 Best Doc Short awards and an Indie Soul Special Recognition Award from Boston International Film Festival (BIFF). He has over 100 starring and featured roles in theatre, film and TV; was the first Industry/Professional Liaison at NYU’s TISCH School of the Arts; Associate Director at HRPAC and founded Emerging Artists Project and All Seasons Theatre Company serving as Artistic Director for both. www.patrickriviere.com
Julia Salinger (Girl in Playground)
Julia Salinger is a poet, artist, painter, printmaker, actress, and playwright. She began as an art historian under her mentor, Irving Sandler, who wrote “The Triumph of American Painting. She at Columbia University and worked for Ronald Feldman Fine Arts as a researcher for five Andy Warhol print portfolios. In 2001, she began to focus solely on her artwork, after working in the music business for seventeen years. She has shown at FARM in Wellfleet, Julie Heller Gallery. She began acting in 2018 and has since done 11 plays, mainly at The Provincetown Theater. In 2022, she had a part in the film, “Home at the end of the world,” which will be released in 2024. She is thrilled to debut her first play, “Fatty Pastrami,” as part of the Truro Playwrights Collective. She is thrilled to announce her solo PAAM exhibit in May 2024.
