Unsafe Selected as O’Neill Semifinalist
by Jim Dalglish
I’m thrilled to report that one of my full-length plays, Unsafe, has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2008 National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. “From a field of 735 scripts, yours joins the continually narrowing pool of 150 semifinalist. You will be notified on the status of your piece by mid-April.”
Finalists will be expected to reside at the O’Neill Center in New London, Connecticut from June 26 to July 28. This is the granddaddy of all the playwright conferences in the US. So I am VERY excited.
I’d like to thank all my lab mates who have offered advice and support. Another huge thanks to the directors and actors who have participated in lab readings of this piece. I could not have gotten this far without you.
Another great piece of news is that my fellow playwright, Meryl Cohn, was also selected for her hilarious play Reasons to Live. Go, Ms. Behavior!
